Mark Herzlich rattled off the numbers without hesitation.
“There are 20 of us and 14 guys are playing in the playoffs right now,” Herzlich said.
By “us,” Herzlich was proudly referring to Boston College products in the NFL. Sure, he got the information from a tweet the night before, but it served as a glimpse into the Boston College football fraternity, which will be on display Sunday when the Giants host the Falcons at MetLife Stadium in an NFC wild-card game.
Of the 14 Boston College players on one of the 12 teams in the playoffs, four former Eagles are Giants and one — arguably the Falcons’ most important player — will be on the other sideline.
